On April 13, 2029, asteroid Apophis grazes Earth, passing below satellites and briefly disappearing from view before re-emerging.
In the heart-pounding military thriller VALIANT ONE, a routine mission goes awry when a US army helicopter crashes deep within North Korean territory. Now, a team of non-combat tech specialists, led by Captain Edward Brockman (Chase Stokes), must navigate the hostile terrain and fend off North Korean forces as they desperately race to escort a civilian tech specialist across the treacherous Demilitarized Zone.
In this 19th-century supernatural winter epic, a drunken apple dealer must go from zero to hero to defeat hundreds of beavers to become the largest fur trapper in North America. Director Mike Cheslick estimates that the cost of the costumes was around $10,000, and the crew purchased all of the costumes online.
After Watson “drops” the beaver; his mustache falls off & falls into the snow while getting back up. He uses it again in the next scene, even though it doesn’t pick up and goes far away.
There are so many great old-school jokes that I’ve never seen, never seen, run full tilt, build up, or combined, encouraging multiple viewings (which I do with gleeful enthusiasm). This flick is like a mash-up of the best classic cartoon skits thrown together with a dash of video game logic, then stretched out into a full-length feature and somehow nailed it.
With hardly any downtime, it just keeps getting better, getting more and more insane, but still always keeping the story in focus. With such a small budget, they really nailed the animation style with simple but effective tools like prefect settings or silly costumes, not to mention one of the funniest theater experiences I’ve ever had.
Men and women live in a giant silo underground, where various regulations are in place that they believe are meant to protect them from the toxic and destroyed world above ground. Whether they’re exploring the stars, escaping dystopias, or making the world a better place, these women are what science fiction is all about. Season 1 covers the first 30 chapters of the book Wool – the book has 82 chapters. The fans on the floor spin in the wrong direction in various episodes, in terms of the orientation of the blades.
Featured in WatchMojo: Top 10 TV Shows You Must Watch in 2023 (2023) I really liked Silo. I love mystery and suspense. I hadn’t read or heard of the books Silo is based on, though. The story is good and interesting.
The show is set 140 years after the apocalypse. The 10,000 people left now live in a silo, and these people have never been outside the silo. However, they do know that leaving the silo is deadly. Some people choose to go outside to find out more, but they always die.
Those who stay in the silo can watch through a window every time someone tries to go out, and see how and when they die. Rebecca Ferguson stars as Juliette Nichols, who tries to find out what’s outside the silo and why they can’t go out without dying. However, the pacing can be a little slow as there are some filler episodes. They undoubtedly could have cut the series down by at least two episodes, but that doesn’t bother me that much as the series is very good overall.
Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers (Michael B. Jordan) return to their hometown to start over, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.
After serving as a British Army nurse in World War II, Claire Randall is enjoying a second honeymoon in Scotland with husband Frank, an MI6 officer looking forward to a new career as an Oxford historian. Suddenly, Claire is transported to 1743 and into a mysterious world where her freedom and life are threatened. To survive, she marries Jamie Fraser, a strapping Scots warrior with a complicated past and a disarming sense of humour. A passionate relationship ensues, and Claire is caught between two vastly different men in two inharmonious lives. "Outlander" is adapted from the best-selling books by Diana Gabaldon.
Claire Beauchamp Randall, a World War II nurse, is mysteriously transported back in time to Scotland in 1743. There, she meets a dashing Highland warrior and becomes embroiled in an epic rebellion. Moore (the series’ developer), his crew decided to keep the Gaelic words instead of translating them into English. This maintained the first-person narrative, showing Claire’s inability to understand Gaelic.
The idea was suggested by producer David Brown, who said he had seen something similar in Skin Deep (1998), a foreign alternative film starring actor and singer Gustavo Goulart. The opening theme song changes from season to season to reflect the events taking place in the story. In the first half of the second season (which is set in France), some of the lyrics are in French. In the second half of the second season (which is mostly about preparing for war), a militaristic drum is added to the opening theme.
Season 3 added tribal drums, as most of the season is set in the West Indies. Season 4 added bluegrass fiddle and banjo, and some of the lyrics are sung in a Southern accent, as the season is mostly set in America. Appears in the film Outlander: An Epic adaptation (2015). The Skye Boat Song (uncredited) Traditional Scottish phrase with lyrics by Sir Harold Boulton, new words by Robert Louis Stevenson.
I just caught up with the previous season and was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. It’s so well written and acted that you really start to care about these characters and what happens to them. The cinematography is beautiful, everything from the cinematography to the costumes is excellent. The overall production value is as good as any television.
I have to say that the last few seasons haven’t been as good as the previous ones, but they’re still worth watching.
Vincent marries Erica and plans to make her his victim, but discovers she is a Black Widow. A deadly game of survival begins.
