Katie, a freelance video editor in desperate need of work, receives a high-paying offer from an anonymous employer to edit a mysterious and strange video. Katie eagerly accepts the job in exchange for cash and eviction. The video shows people being tortured and even killed on camera, and it’s surely an elaborately staged fiction. But when that first job leads to even more productive work and more disturbingly realistic snuff films, Katie’s life begins to unravel. Strange figures in her apartment, terrifying nightmares that keep her awake at night, and a mysterious illness afflicting her cat. It’s only when Katie finally decides to quit her job that she discovers just how cruel her nameless employer is and how much she stands to get out of her contract.
